    Hi there,

Recently bought a 2005 2.0tdi with the CVT gearbox.

Cambelt and water pump will be due in the next 20k but have decided to get it done earlier for piece of mind. Also want to get the CVT serviced as that is due in 6k. The aircon could also do with a regas.

Can anyone recommend a decent independent in the Hampshire/Dorset area? I’m based near ringwood.

I got in touch with Regal autosport in Southampton and they quoted £699 for cambelt and waterpump plus £99 for aircon. (This is double what I was expecting). They also said the cvt filter never needs replacing but said they can inspect and quote (no mention of oil change cost).

Am I right in thinking that is extortionately expensive? Parts seem to be about £80. Also are they correct re: CVT? I read the oil should be changed every 40k and, oil and filter every 80k...

    Thanks,
    Ryan

I paid £453 for a cam belt change at a local garage. £70 for a aircon re gas. I would definitely get the cvt oil changed. Also I heard that the filter should be changed. I would also do it. Also the cvt has a dual mass flywheel, which is a good one to change. Paid £805 for that. It is a pain to change.
