Hi l, hope someone can help with this, I have a 2002 2.0 gti with azj engine and have found the vacuum, pcv, swirl pot type cap and rubber diaphragm fitting broken on the front of the intake manifold. I can't find much info anywhere and the local vw parts dept cant help either.... would anyone know of a repair kit/option or perhaps preferably a delete option available? Thank you

A common issue on the AZJ (if you could call the AZJ common) and the manifold was redesigned to deal with it, part number 06A 133 204 CP and £649.89. Second hand could be a joke to track down as of the four 2litre 8v’s used at this time, the AZJ is extremely rare, I think I have worked on three with this problem.

Thanks, the airbox doesn't look like it can be opened at the join/seal and finding any replacement parts to repair it looks like a challenge... What would you say about the flap inside, would fixing it in the open position work do you think?

You cannot repair it, you have to replace the manifold upper section.

Interesting that the azj is rare, also such a lower hp than you would expect from a gti, do you know any history on the AZJ ?
