Mine seems to have failed. I can't prise it out. Have i got to demolish the centre console to access it? Looks like a right work up but it's handy for phone charging. If that's the case, could I just run a separate feed off the battery? Thanks.... It's an Avant by the way.

God! I'm brilliant.... It WAS a major work-up but through hard work and sheer determination I've fixed it!
It was tough but the first fuse I checked had blown. Using my considerable 'know how' I decided to replace it. and my hard work paid off. It's now working... Skill like this doesn't come easy. Any problems you know where to come? What a dopey twonk.....

    Made me laugh!

I checked into taking the socket out the other day - it's not working, though the LEDs are.. Sadly the fuse is intact here so it's not a quick fix. I currently use the socket in the centre behind the front seats, but it's a nuisance having wires trailing. If anyone is looking at doing this, you need a set of small shaped metal tools to take the radio or sat nav out - see Ebay. Then the air system control panel, then the trim in front of the ashtray and then then the ashtray and socket can wriggle out. Do-able but I'd have to be pretty bored before attempting it.

If all else fails, check the fuse..... don’t worry, we have all been there.
