Power Fold Mirror fault

Hi My 2012 A6 BiTDi has power fold mirrors, but every time i start the car the drivers mirror moves a few cm then stops, passenger side folds out every time, if i then manually fold and unfold 95% of the time the drivers mirror then folds out. i have tried to spray the joint with WD40 and this works once or twice and stops again, if this something i can fix? or is it a new mirror?
mine has blind spot assist if that makes any difference.

I had a side impact a year or so back (cyclist) and noticed that since then... the mirror joint where it folds on the bracket etc.. there is a rubber surface .. that ended up with a slight fold in it.. Is your rubber gasket/running surface sitting ok?.. or is it folding/binding? ... if so you could free up.. or potentially replace if possible.. see what you think..

Hi

Ive been struggling with this issue since i bought the car 2.5 years ago or so... from what ive found out on other forums its the hardened grease in the joints thats to be blamed. Idea is same as yours ir wd40 on to the joint but to access it the mirror casing has to come off and it doesnt appear to be the easiest of the things to do so i havent had a go. if you are able to end up doing something about it then please do share the results

Audi replaced the mirror mount for £275 fitted last week. Works a treat now.
