The mystery of fuse 31

Fuse 31 on the 1.9 tdi controls the reversing lights and cruise control if fitted , not in my AVF Sport case .

So I pulled this 15A fuse when the reversing lights were stuck on ( probably gearbox reversing light switch ).

Lights off but I noticetthat day it's lost alot of bhp , light throttle pottering around is OK but any larger and it's as flat as a pancake .

Code reader out to see if any fault codes and it's

Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70 ) open or short to ground.

So I swap out the MAF with an AWX I've got laying around same OEM Bosch part number and no change .

Some out of the box thinking and fuse 31 back in regains the horse power !

We have a secret valet mode

Another with an AWX Highline pulled the fuse and experienced the same but bizarrely Cruise control was unaffected .
