Heater Blower Driving Me Crazy

good afternoon,

hopefully someone can help me,

a few months ago i remember thinking my ac/heater blower wasnt as powerful as it was before but ignored it. then one day it wouldnt work at all then about 20 minutes later it started. i put this down to the motor sticking. this issue carried on and at the time couldnt afford a new motor. then once i saved up the cash i replaced the motor. this has sorted the no starting issue but the power was still poor.

i checked the pollen filter just in case but thats ok. a friend of mine suggested that i reset the climate stuff to basic betting now i dont have VCDS but do have Delphi cars which has this as an option so did it and to my suprise fixed it. but after about 1 hour i noticed it giving poor performace again so again i reset to basic settings and all good . i have also noticed that once the poor performance kicks in the resurc doesnt work either

my question is why does it keep needing to be reset i have had to reset it now many times

If basic settings restores the function I would suspect a sticking actuator, probably the re-circulation flap motor, I replaced one of those on a Passat B5.5, OMG, see photo, not a nice job if yours is similar.IMG_0913.jpg
