Good morning guys I have an annoying "buzzing" coming from my glovebox every time I either turn the ignition off and remove the key or use the Central locking button in the driver's door. It sounds like the glovebox motor, I've done a search and can't find anything out about it. I was thinking of stripping down the glovebox and just disconnecting the power to it as I'm not bothered about locking the glovebox. If someone broke in they would only break it open and that would be more work.

I'm not sure the A4 B7 ever had an electronic locking glovebox. Are you sure the noise you hear is not coming either from the CD changer in the glovebox or one of the Servo motors on the climate control system (located behind the glovebox). Both make noises after the car is turned off. The servo's are even known when old to have issues with the potenometers which wear out and continue to make the motors move when the car is off and locked. To the extent they might cause the battery to go gflat over a period of time, say a week?

If these are faulty they might show as errors on a VCDS scan.

Thanks for that Paul I will go and check if the glovebox does lock, it's definitely not the cd as it doesn't have a multichanger in situ, (although I'd like one &#128077 the buzzing does remind me of a faulty locking motor.
I have no access to a VCDS scan unless there's someone on here local to Worsley, I'd love to get it scanned as I think it might have a boost problem, when the car is warm it stutters, and I've read somewhere on a post in the forum that it's possibly an electrical component heating up, but can't find the post again😭. So a scan might be the only way to find out, the scanner I have is an "icarsoft" and it doesn't find anything wrong.
