Hi everyone, has anyone done this swap? I have a nice B7 2.0 tdi ( blb) with a broken oil pump, and a battered b6 with a sweet 1.9 tdi (awx). Is there any reason I can't swap the awx into the B7? If so is there a best combination of parts to use? Thanks in advance

I don't think that will help as I'm sure the blb is ruined. ☹️

I'm sure the Awx will physically fit, I'm just not sure how far back I'll have to go changing bits, i.e. Engine loom, Ecu, dash clocks? Is the awx b6 loom compatible with the B7? Surely this conversion has been done before?

It will fit but the electronics could be a total sketch and leave you will malfunction lights impossible to turn off which would be a disaster. With the punitive emissions taxes coming on non EU6 diesel it is not worth putting good money into them.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate that it could be a tough one to sort out. I only paid £450 for both cars , and the nice one is a B7 s line avant with 70k on the clock and is mint so I don't mind spending the time. Surely if I work back far enough through the car they should interface at a common point? having both complete cars should help I guess!

The crux of the job will be getting the dashboard to talk to the engine ECU and the ABS and other connected devices to not get upset, you issues are most likely to be software related.
