Anyone with a Chorus 2+/ Concert/Symphony 3 with OE iPod Dock in glovebox?

Hello all.

Trying - and so far failing - to get a definitive answer to this wee Q. The factory double-DIN head units fitted around 2010 were the Chorus II+, Concert 3 and Symphony 3 stereos. These had a factory-fitted option of a 30-pin iPod Dock installed in the glovebox.

My question is - will that dock work on 5th generation onwards iPods which have the newer 8-pin lightning socket if used with an Apple 30-pin-to-Lightning adaptor?

Can’t see why not. My 2012 era Passat had VW’s MFI interface which only had either USB or Apple 30 pin. I used a genuine Apple 30 pin to lightning adapter and worked fine for audio and charging.

Word of warning though - For audio play back the adapter needs to be a genuine Apple one as only Apple ones are capable of audio playback. Aftermarket ones can only sync and charge.
