    Hi all,

Is it possible to adjust my steering wheel with VCDS? It's "turning right" slightly when driving straight after 4 wheel alignment some months ago.

No it is a mechanical alignment and the software can't fix a bad wheel alignment. Despite some decent equipment some tyre services still get these cars wrong when aligning, primarily by not getting the steering wheel locked dead ahead i.e. not taking enough care to position the steering wheel absolutely central. It is pretty much the only thing they can get wrong these days with the most modern 4 wheel alignment equipment as it can plot everything in great detail using sophisticated software, cameras, lasers and sensors.

Mine is off centre also thanks to the garage that did my alignment!

Frustratingly I don't think I've ever had a car with a completely straight steering wheel so most garages obviously don't care enough to get it dead ahead before aligning.

Some think the steering lock when it is on and locked seemingly ahead is sufficient enough to allow the alignment to be done not realising that there is more than 10 degrees of movement still possible either way when it is unlocked. Steering lock off, drive forward / back a few times and rock the steering wheel aggressively each way gradually easing off until it is centred, then lock it but not with the cars steering lock! Seen some good ones, seen some bad. Even had to ask one monkey *** he was doing as it was that bad so do my own now.
