Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've fitted a genuine Skoda tow bar to my Dad's Yeti. I'm in the trade, so have a contact at the local Skoda dealer, so I asked them to code the vehicle for me.

I had to fit the extra wires for the split charging, which wasn't a problem, the only query I have is that the vehicle has rear parking sensors & when reverse is selected the sensor operate with the caravan coupled, therefore they sound all the time. As I work as a Master Tech at an Audi dealer I'm aware that they switch off on Audi's, are they supposed to switch off on Skoda's?

My contact at Skoda said the vehicle was coded via SVM, so they didn't have to code the vehicle manually, but not having done one before, they aren't sure about the parking aid issue.

Can anyone give me a definite answer, is the parking aid switched off with a caravan coupled?

The system is as per an 8P A3 so when the trailer is couple the stem should shut down and the ESP know as well so you need to check the long coding values in the CAN controller, PDC, ABS and I think convenience and central electrics have coding values which ODIS is not very helpful with, I feel it is taking away some of the techs skill base being too automated. VCDS would be ideal and is much more user friendly and it would not be the first time SVM missed something.
