    Hello,

I have noticed that from some time, my car started to leave black specks on the back of it. Also, the exhaust started to get black. I have noticed that sometimes the exhaust starts to smoke (black as I saw). What can this be caused by?

Also, this problem started when I started to have some misfires, replaced the spark plugs and the misfires went away. It also started to consume more oil since this.black speck.jpg

Are the specks dry or slimy?

I will look today when I get in the garage in order to check in on the garage floor. From what I saw they might be slimy, but I will check to be sure.

Sorry for the late update, the specks are dry, not slimy. What does it mean?
    Also, if they were slimy?

    Thank you!
LE: I also observed a weird thing. I went on a long road the other day, and sometimes, when I pressed the accelerator, the car would stutter a bit and then leave a puff of black smoke (seemed black) behind.

That suggests the marks are carbon from un-burnt fuel being carried out and deposited by water vapour, if they wee slimy it would suggest oil burning and the visible smoke would have a blue tinge. You should start by having the care fault code scanned using proper VAG specific diagnostic equipment.

I've already done that. There are no error codes besides my air quality control. Note that it was VCDS scanning and Obdeleven. I guess that it is something sensible that the ECU doesn't detect as being wrong or out of spec.

It could just be left over soot from when it was misfiring but you say it is using oil?

I'm pretty sure it's not left over soot since this issue has been going on for over 1-2k km. Yes, it is using oil also.

If it was over fuelling the ecu should pick it up so even though it is dry it may still be oil soot which is not good...
