Today I was driving my Audi A4 3.0L TDI on the nice sunny day, then randomly the wipers started up and did Three wipes and stopped? Through maybe the sunlight might of caused a reflection into the sensor and it thought it was raining? Because the wipers had moved across my dry dusty screen I thought now I need the wash and wipe the screen, tried to activate the wash wipe and nothing? No water and no wiper action could be activated? I could put them into manual wipe the they would work but not by using the wash wipe stork? Was the three wipes telling me that there was an issue with the wash wipe relay? Once I got to my destination I tried them once again and they were working again? Could someone tell me where do I find the location of the wash wipe relay? assuming there is a module for this function? or is it part of the ECU? Maybe there's a loose connection somewhere? is there a fuse which could be working loose? Thanks

Has no one got any answers to my washer and wipe problem? or do I have to reluctantly take it to an Audi service department? and probably cost more to fix than the cars worth?

My wipers are still playing up, how I can tell is if I have the Rain sensor option selected and the system decided to malfunction the wipers will start up and run continually till I switch them off? I have also found that a LARGE slap on the steering column corrects the problem? So one would assume there is a loosen connection somewhere in there? Is it best practise to disconnect the battery before I start investigating further? Thinking of having a look inside the cowling to see if any connectors have come a drift?
