    Hi

Sorry if this post is in the wrong section but couldn't find any non-model specific sections. I have the fairly standard 3 button black key fob that flicks open. One of the 2 fobs seems to be malfunctioning and sending a constant "close door" signal. When its battery is in I can't even use the other (good) fob to open the door as it seems to be overruled by the faulty one. I've tried a new battery, reprogramming it (hold "open" button, insert key, turn to second position still holding key, turn back to off, remove, release) with no joy. I've opened it up and the buttons aren't physically jammed ie I can press/depress each button ok. Wondering if anyone has experienced this and/or has any other suggestions for me to try?

    Many thanks

    NB

was it messy / sticky inside? could be causing a short can you measure resistance with no batteries fitted across the switch? - tv remotes get all gummed up i strip and clean in luke warm water and fairy liquid. for the key with physical buttons i would leave it to dry for a couple of days before inserting batteries again.

tin whiskers are real as well but normally fuse straight away then grow again.
