After an argument the dealer I didn’t bother! They wanted £60 to investigate what to me appeared to be an obvious adhesive defect. They wouldn’t consider a goodwill out of warranty claim without it. They said if the warranty claim was successful the £60 would be refunded, but they couldn’t stress hard enough that Audi are very fussy with post warranty claims and that I should have paid the £1000+ for an extended warranty, to save this!

I decided life is too short for an argument over such a little fault, so I bought a new glass for £7.90 delivered and stuck it on, now as good as new :-)

So my gun powder is still dry for the next time I need to make a more serious out of warranty claim.

My drivers side glass fell out when closing the door and shattered on the floor, like all others, it seems the adhesive failed.
Extended (full version) warranty didn't cover it as they said it was wasn't a mechanical or electrical component that failed.

No amount of trying to explain that it wasn't glass damage, rather than a failed unit in the car, would let the dealer or the extended warranty people change their mind... At least it wasn't too expensive, but strange to see it's not a one-off occurrence.

This is catching on. Went to london on Saturday from the north. It was very hot in London and mine came loose on journey home. At least it did not fall out this time and cover following car in glass.
