MK5 DSG non start from the key

As title guys,

got a mk5 dsg in, the car will not turn via the key, if i apply a direct battery supply to the starter solenoid, it will fire up and drive perfect.

all fuses and relays are fine.

anyone come across this fault before.

Ignition switch failure? Very common in Mk5 Golfs, have you got Vcds to run a scan? Maybe something like this....

i did have those fault codes so have replaced the switch with a new one and its still the same.

i am not getting communication with the transmission control unit, but once started it communicates fine and drives perfect.

I think you are having a starter lock out command issue from the box, I can’t look deeper into it until Monday now. Does the gear lever select as it should?

it does when started. but with ignition on the selector is flashing and there is no footbrake symbol on the dash

If the dash gear indicator is flashing I think it will be a faulty Mechatronic unit so you need to have a code read done.
