    Hi all

This morning on my way to work the glow plug light started flashing; this has happened once before however not in a few months. Then about 20 mins later the DPF warning light came on.

EML not on (yet, touch wood), and car is driving fine as it was before.

Any idea on what could be causing it? Have read about the brake switch however they seem to be fine.

Had the car a few months, all been ok bar these two lights today. Has flashed up saying it needs a service based on mileage which I’ll do soon, but it did have a sort of service pre purchase.

I don’t have a VCDS, and am located in Leicester city centre throughout the working week if anyone local has one.

Most of these I see describe limp mode but mines been fine

A thought - a friend had a similar issue and his mechanic ended up essentially cutting the box in half and removing the dpf components, and putting back together. So it looked ok from the outside.

I know removal shouldn’t be done, but is that something others have done too? Would that be a tricky job?

It would certainly be illegal. MOT inspectors now under instructions to look at this very carefully, may also invalidate insurance if caught.

    Suspected so, thanks.

Car just gone into limp mode this morning. Will this shop once the lights have been flashed off? For a temporary solution until I get paid in a week

Also, garages which do diagnostics, would they be able to do a regen etc? It’s not just those with the Ross tech gear is it? Sorry if that’s a stupid question just want to make sure

Would driving with the DPF light on make the % load higher and risk further damage?

Just thinking of the driving I have to do before I can get it looked at

Scanned at 150%~, half hour doing 40mph and got down to 0% and done a regen

Feels like a new car. Hopefully it stays this way!
