Which Registrations Have Android Auto?

Hi all,


Im looking at getting a Passat Estate at some point this year and would like one with Android Auto so i can hook my phone up.


Im struggling to understand which exact cars will have this. I saw somewhere that it is 2016- but for example a 65 reg registered in Jan 2016, that wont have it assume? So is it anything from March onwards?


Is there an update for 2015 models that enabled this functionality?

I have a 2015 model with Carnet and the option for android auto, you have to buy the key from VW though for the android auto to work.

My Passat is a 2016 model and it hasn’t got it. It needs to be activated at a cost of £250 odd. I’m unsure when it went from being optional to standard.
