2008 Vw Golf BKD 2.0 TDi Low Oil Pressure Warning

Just thought Id post this here as I had this issue today and a google search revealed only problems with the older engines that suffered failed oil pumps.

When I seen this STOP Low Oil Pressure warning I assumed after reading old posts that this was the same failed oil pump issue. But after putting the oil pressure guage on the car I have approx 4 bar at idle and 7 bar at 2000rpm everything seemed fine. I switched the oil pressure sensor with an old engine and the issue has gone.

Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.

I suggest you fit the correct 0.55>0.85 Bar switch 038 919 081 K instead of the 0.3>0.6 Bar switch from a petrol 1.4/1.6 16v you have fitted.

Interesting, thanks for your reply. The part number I quoted was the one I removed today and the one I fitted was from a spare BKD 2.0 Tdi 2008 Golf. So Im guessing someone has changed this before and fitted the wrong one. (I edited my original post to remove the incorrect part number that was fitted in error to this engine, cheers Crasher.)
