That should clear all the values in channels 73-77. The box might have to be above a certain temp to get it to clear, but it does work.

Don't let anyone tell you that you can do it by holding down the pedal and switching on and off the ignition or some other story.
Thanks. Like Crasher said, I am ok with clearing values, just a bit fuzzy on how to initiate the learn process to set the new adaptations. But I have also been advised by a transmission repair specialist in US that he would not normally clear the adaptations simply from an ATF + filter and mechatronics sleeves change, but only if he had also changed one or more solenoids.

As crasher says, the box does adapt once in a while on its own (as long as the prerequisites listed in the audi SSP are met), but I guess the clincher will be to see how it is shifting after carrying out the work.

Having read up on torque converter lockup clutch operation overnight, I’m becoming less optimistic that the steps I’m proposing to take will actually fix my problem, but will go through with it as it’s something to try. I don’t fancy diving straight into a TC replacement...

Get SSP 385, it has the best adaption info I've found on the 09L. Read the entire adaption section, but specifically pages 69 to 73.

Thanks. Already got it, and already read it twice. It takes a few times for that kind of detailed engineering info to sink into my noggin. I have a few ZF docs too. I find it all fascinating just how sophisticated these gearboxes are - and of course all this was being developed in early 2000s, goodness knows what they’re onto now, 20 years later. And then electric cars come along and spoil it all by making these transmissions obsolete...
