    Hi guys

my 2.0 tdi BRE (210000 miles) recently started making a lot of noise which i suspected was the DMF, so i have replaced the clutch and flywheel but the noise is still there. I recorded a video, not sure if it'll help with the diagnosis.

A4 B7 BRE noise from engine - YouTube

From researching am i right in thinking this could be the start of the oil pump hex failing? The car still drives ok (although seems sluggish in 1st\2nd) and i have never had a low oil pressure warning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA

Probably a given with that mileage and no previous evidence of work done in that area .

The BRE has the double trouble of having both oil pump module being chain driven where the tensioner fails and puts the metal teeth in bits into the oil till fails and the wonderful planned obsolescence of the 77mm oil pump drive .

    I wouldn't drive it .
