Thumping noise

CVT gearbox

So I’ve got a thumping noise coming from the front end. The higher the speed the more it’s thumping. Had the tyres changed. Had the brakes changed. Had the wheel bearings checked. All ok. The sound is worse when on a long right turn. No sound at low speeds. Worse on concrete roads. No vibration through the steering wheel but I can feel vibration on the foot rest on the left. Tested all the bushes on the suspension. I’m at a lose. Could it be cv joints?

Any ideas would be great. If anybody has had this or has any ideas.

Sounds can often mislead you, so start checking away from front suspension. Check all mounts especially exhaust.

Ok thank you. It does sound very rhythmical. Almost like something that is unbalanced. Like a wheel unbalanced or a fly wheel. I’m not sure exactly how a cvt works in regards to how it transfers the power from the gearbox to the drive shaft. When I lifted the from and rotated the wheel forwards and backs the drive shaft did rotate about a cm.

Do cvt gearbox’s become unbalanced?
