    Hi all,

I’m looking at a 2016 GT 2.0TDI blue motion Passat Estate.

It’s done 77k, one owner from new and service history.

It’s on for £11,495. Is this kind of millage on these engines?

Are they cambelt or chain engines?

Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated .

They are cam belt, VW only give a mileage in the workshop manual which is something silly like 120k miles and most people are not that brave so we all tend to stick to the post 2009 rule of five years. If buying a diesel that is not EU6, you need to judge this with any possibility of T zones coming in where you have to go. Inside the M25 non EU6 diesels are going to become worthless very soon. I can’t see one coming in your area from what I could find out on your local government web site, Nottingham’s has been postponed from 2020 due to a legal challenge. To check for ANY car you look at falling foul of such schemes, use the TFL app for the London scheme as this will likely be the benchmark used by all such schemes Check your vehicle - Transport for London

All B8’s are Euro 6 compliant - early 150’s don’t have Adblue though (like mine).

So long as it’s serviced I wouldn’t worry about that sort of mileage

I went ahead with the purchase. It’s a great
    and very economical car.

Only issue is the common heater matrix pipe rattle and that’s it. It’s all good.

I just fix the issue of " heater matrix pipe rattle ". as the German vw forum said, it is very easy to use a cable tie to bind the two heater pipe in the engine bay side. after that it will disappear.
