    Hi,
When i pull onto my driveway at night and press the On/Off button, i would expect the interior lights to automatically come on, so you can find your keys etc.
This doesn't happen. The only way i can get the lights to come on automatically is by opening the door. Not brilliant if it's in the middle of winter, blowing a gale and raining heavily. VW just told me that's the way it is, which in my eyes is a design flaw. Is there a way around this problem please? Thanks

That is the way it is as opening the door turns the ignition off. I don’t think you can change it and it is on most, if not all, VAG cars. My old 2009 Ibiza did the same and that was a key ignition.

That is exactly the way it is with my Passat. However, as soon as you turn off the engine in my 12-year-old Jaguar X-Type the interior lights do come on.
