I have an Audi TTS 09 plate. I sometimes find it impossible to engage 1st gear.
The other gears all work, but I feel as if they are not all in the right place and have shifted slightly??
This all usually happens when the car is warm.
Otherwise the movement of the gear stick is fluid and positive.
The garage have checked it superficially and added oil etc.

    Any ideas?

It could be a weak syncro but the 02M doesn't tend to suffer so it is probaly like the 09 TTS I have here where the clutch had gone heavy, fitting a new one solved the problem. Unfortunately he left it too long and the crank thrust washer suffered from the pressure, spun and fell out and fell into the balancer shaft and the engine lost oil pressure due to excessive bearing side flow which totalled the turbo and the crank whacked into the block destroying the thrust face and battering the main bearing cap so now it is having £8.5K of new genuine engine and turbo...
