I am having a problem with my Golf 2.0 Tdi BMM engine. The car runs great about town and on short runs about 20 to 30 miles. But when I go a journey of over 50 miles the car starts running rough like it's missing when you accelerate . It's ok when you stay at a steady speed . This has happend about 6 times . On 2 occasions my wife was driving and she made 2 stops after her 75 mile journey for shopping and on both occasions at the second stop the car would not start . She came back to the car after 45 mins it would start again just before the breakdown recovery turned up. He recommended changing the fuel filter, Which I did but no difference . The second time recovery came the guy recommended changing the injector cable in the head which I did but still the same . Has any one had the same problem or anyone recommend what else to try as this needs to get fixed . I have vagcom the car with no faults showing up . Help!!.

Sorry I can't help you with this unless the DPF is refitted and the ECU re-flashed back to standard, I have lost count of the number of BMM and BMN engines that run badly with the DPF illegally removed.
