    DONT BELIEVE IT.

the car is driving fine for a day and now it came up with 2439- EGR system bank 2- excessive flow.
I went and bought one this morning and hour later, the light came back on with same fault.only thing i can think is that i may have put it on the wrong side.
looking at the car from the front,i fitted it to the right hand side.passenger side although it is in the middle of the engine basically and the other one id slightly to the left.
    anybody help please.

    ok,will do.

    thanks a lot.
i just got back.swapped the EGR`S over, cleaned the other one,not that it was that dirty, then went for a 50 mile drive, pulled over 4 times to switch off and start again, went flat out and then slow.tested it all out and then 5 minutes from home, came on again.
when i took the car to the garage this week,it had one fault code and that was the exhaust sensor. when he fitted the sensor,is there anything he might of disturbed that might of caused this fault to come on or are they unrelated.
    24394-EGR SYSTEM BANK 2

Difficult to say but until the temp sensor was replaced the system was not working correctly and now it can see what is happening... it is an extraordinarily complex system.

Hi all, I was looking for information on the internet and found your forum and this topic. I had a similar experience with the exhaust sensor with my wife Mazda, buying it from a Mazda dealer. It was the third time lucky as they tried to convince me when it said sensor number 3 they don't know if counting should start from the front of the car or the back

Anyway, I have an error with my Audi q7 4.2 Tdi 2009 :

    9815 - Sensor 1 for Exhaust Temp Bank 2 (G236)
Could you please tell me the part number and location of this one?

I appreciate any help you can provide.

The handing of a car is always viewed as sitting in the car looking forwards, bank 2 is the left. Changing this sensor on the V8 is horrendous, the DPF has to come off and the bolts are usually rotten and then the cat has to come off, it can take two days on a lift with a gas axe and all the kit.

Removing and installing exhaust gas temperature sender 1 for bank 2 -G236-

    Removing

    WARNING

Working on all parts of the exhaust system:

Observe safety precautions when working on the exhaust system

    Note

Fit all cable ties in the original positions when installing

    Remove catalytic converter (left-side)

Detach electrical connector from bracket and unplug

Move clear electrical wiring for exhaust gas temperature sender 1 for cylinder bank 2 -G236-

Unscrew exhaust gas temperature sender 1 for bank 2 -G236--item 1-

    Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:

    Installation position: angle -α- = 56 ± 5°

    Install catalytic converter (left-side)

    I get the part number as 057 906 088 M, brown plug
