To be honest I would say that pump is not going that fast, it is half engine speed after all. You should see the price of some "O" rings from VAG, it's obscene, I am just making up a spread sheet for a customer to estimate putting a new genuine engine in his TTS and the "O" ring for the fuel pump on the head is £7.94! One that sticks in my mind is the intermediate shaft seal on the old Golf engine such as a DX for a Sirocco I am building for a chap who lives upt norff in Glasgee, that O ring comes in the gasket kit but it is £10.58 separately from VW! Anyway, the big "O" ring for the pump, 059 145 117 A is £21.26 and the little one, 059 145 117 B is £2.54 genuine! My wife and her sister climbed Ben Lomond yesterday, pretty nasty weather by their account!

That's the trouble with Scotland - the weather, particularly if you try to plan something - barbeque or monroe climbing! Sadly my climbing days ae over but can still handle the produce of a BBQ!
