    I've got a 2009 A3 TDI 2.0 170 cbbb engine.
Everyday I scan the car and I get p2002 up and sometimes I'll get p2002 and p0544. Sometimes the glow plug light will also flash and sometimes the car will produce a lot of smoke. Most of the times it drives perfectly fine. Where do I start? Changing the EGT sensor under the turbo or changing the exhaust pressure sensor ? I've got VCDS but not sure what to actually check to narrow down the problem. Do I need to check the soot levels or do a force regen ?

What’s the max dpf pressure during road test?
Check with second person monitoring the laptop via measuring blocks.

In VCDS, in the area you can read and clear the faults you have an option to view “measuring blocks”, or, if available, “advanced measuring blocks”.
*For measuring blocks: cycle through until you find the required data (someone else will know exact designation, but should be obvious).
*For advanced measuring blocks: simply check the box of the data you want to stream.

Also shows driven distance since last regen 480km
When I tick the boxes for
    Temp prior turbo shows 132oC
    Temp prior particulate filter Blank
    Temp after particulate filter Blank

Should the sensors on the particulate filter be showing some temps ?

Took the car for a spin now and I put my foot down. Around 3500revs it hesitated then the power came back. Few seconds later the car started smoking a lot. Scanned it and came up with both codes again. Switched the car off and on again and its stopped smoking

If you got 5mbar as the max value on road test either you have a pipe blown off/split or the sensor is faulty.
    Inspect pipes to pressure sensor.
