Rear washer not been working for awhile.
Took the rear wiper motor apart and found that the washer connection to the wiper spindle has been leaking into the gearbox.

Any clues where I could get the plastic connection to the spindle that is fitted in the motor gearbox cover.
Cleaned and re-greased till problem solved.

    thanks

    Thanks, I guessed that.

Not doing that just yet all for a bit of plastic, will try and find an alternative fix.

Some have had success using a biro pen. Amazon strangely stock the Valeo motor which from memory was half the price of the TPS Audi stamped Valeo unit. Replaced mine twice now so cats had 3 in total. The amount of cars I see with a rear wiper stuck in a random position is embarrassing! Mk3 and 4 golf also had same issue but VW used to sell a repair kit for the mk3 variant motor but didn’t for the 4. They used to have a copper tube that was lubbed then snapped when it went dry.

    Thanks,

But dont see how a biro pen would be of use, as the washer fluid goes up the center of the wiper spindle. Not as the VW or other models have the washer fluid tube fixed and turns inside the wiper spindle.

The gearbox cover has square plastic connector, this fits over the end of the spindle when assembled. This is where the leak is between the spindle and connector.

Seems daft having to pay £50 for a motor where the plastic bit would be £1.
