Anyone in the ULEZ or within the M25?

Hi All,

Had my 3.0Tdi Le Mans for about 18 months now and love it.

However, at the time I always knew it was probably a bad idea to buy a diesel (my first) but my heart won me over.........

At the time I was unaware of the ULEZ and the proposal by the Mayor of London to roll this out to the boundary of the M25 by 2021.

My car will be subject to the daily charge, and from what I can tell having randomly checked many models of relatively new cars, there will be many car owners hit massively by this ridiculous extra “tax”.

I was just wondering if any other owners within the M25 are concerned as I am? Ultimately I fear my car will become pretty much worthless.........!!

The ULEZ is the congestion charge area.

The LEZ is the area up to the M25.

If your car is a Euro 5 engine car the LEZ is free but not the ULEZ as the car has to be Euro 6 to be free.

But they’re rolling the ULEZ out to within the M25 by 2021.....

The ULEZ will be expanding to the north an south circular roads in 2021.

Theres no mention of the M25 as of yet on the official website.

And all over the UK from 2021, lots of cities including Nottingham have them coming. It is a shame that so few people knew these were coming, I have known about the proposals for five years and I don’t have any special contacts. One of my customers works in the local city council environmental department and I asked him about it last year and he had no idea what I was on about. When he came back later he said I was right and he had never heard of it before.

Either way, it’s going to cost a lot of people an awful lot of money, either keeping the cars they have, or selling them at a loss to buy something that is compliant!!!

As someone who lives nr central london and experience the terrible air quality on a daily basis this new legislation can't come too soon.
