    So I have heard back from Audi digital, it would appear as I thought, my car is over the 3 year age and therefore not entitled to the 2019 maps.

    In case it helps others, maps are released in week 22 and 45 :-)

    <quote>
    Concerning your vehicle and its specification, you were eligible for 5 map updates for 3 years from the date of delivery. Map updates become available twice per year, in calendar weeks 22 and 45. As your vehicle was delivered on 25/03/2016, your map updates would expire on 25/03/2019. As we are in calendar week 18/2019, the last map update you would be eligible for would be the one from calendar week 45/2018, which is consistent with the myAudi screenshot you sent us (version 2018/2019). You may already have it installed in your MMI, which would explain why the Online Map Updates in the MMI cannot find any available updates.

    Please note that once the 3 years of free map updates have expired, further updates can be installed by your Audi Partner.
    <quote>

    So I'll be off to SatNavUpgrade for my map updates now...certainly won't be paying Audi for the 3-4 hours to do the update.

    Fairly sure that someone bricked their MMI installing an update from an unofficial source. Not trying to scare you, but I would check carefully on other threads in this forum first to find out more.

    I have recently updated both the MMI and satnav in my 2014 Allroad using Satnavupgrade with no problems whatsoever. I would highly recommend them.

    For some reason when I put the full link : https://satnavupgrade.com / collections / audi it gets changed to "forbidden" ..

    Does anyone know what difference updating the MMI firmware makes? My car was in for a service at Audi and I got them to update the MMI for me. But everything seems same apart from the software version number.

    Usually it is just bug fixes or minor performance improvements. Occassionally it is more significant and adds new functionality but that is rare

    It's working ok for me, but so far not impressed by them. I have contacted them twice so far. The first time ignored, the second time they requested the VIN which I provided, now there is radio silence. no follow up nothing! It doesn't feel me with confidence, especially if there is a problem during the update. I think I'll just stick with out of date maps and use Waze instead :-)

    My firmware update added an "add phone" option to the phone settings and a few smaller changes but no map updates sadly.

    Hi again all, sorry if this has been asked before, where is the option in myAudi to download the map updates please? Or am I in the situation that because the car is more than 3 years old, I have to ask the dealer to do it for £250?
