You cannot rebuild these units no matter what any of these “experts” say, they are just cashing in on the gap between what they can patch them up for and what a genuine unit costs, if it was possible to economically rebuild them then VAG and Siemens would still offer them rather than giving up and just selling new units at £382.80 but there will always be someone who thinks they can do something and always those willing to buy to save a few quid. The next time we see this sort of parsimony will be with electric car batteries which fail and someone (they are already out there) will start to rebuild them and sell at a price half that of the main dealer but with this industry people will die....
