Yeah thats correct crasher, im having a right mare man, done the crank sensor today nd the oil filter housing didnt seal, ****** oil every where, ******* mission of a job man gotta strip it all down again tomorrow, since doing the timing it is starting up better now still a little struggle but i can live with that, soon as ive done the crank to tomorrow i will do the same shaft and coolant sensors and see where that leaves me unless you got some ideas? The dpf looks like its been gutted out as i seen its been welded up today could that cause any problems if its not mapped out?

Almost every BMN I come across has been de-DPF'd and yes the typical remap makes then run like **** and they stink, it makes your eyes water just being near one. You are going to have to fit a new DPF (genuine as the pattern ones give false readings) and get it flashed back to standard before I can help any further. Some stink even when standard, one of my lady customers loved hers but got rid because of the stink it made even with a DPF. I would probaly say stop now and get rid. The oil filter housing bolts and gasket must be replaced or it WILL leak, if you re-use the bolts and torque to spec, they can snap.

And no helpful error codes? When it cuts, how does it restart, straight away or waiting/cranking?

What is the returning fault code? When it won’t restart, you need to be seeing the measuring blocks for rpm and ECU voltage to see what they are and keep cranking until you get a good idea of what these two values are.
