It’s been months now since Audi stop offering S and RS models on the configurator. Given the fines coming to manufactures if their entire for sale fleet has an average of >95gm per KM could this be the end of the super fast SUVs? Now true the diesel SQ7 engine is actually amazingly clean with full Euro6 - being a 2.2ton car that does 0-60 in les than 5 seconds unless you beat the rules of physics it still produces a fair amount of CO2. Will Audi just stump up and pay the fine and pass the cost on to consumers or do you think we’ll see a new direction for all car manufactures away from high performance large cars?

Either way it should help the residuals ;-)

I think that good, old diesels are still alive. Couple of days ago Audi launched new S6 and S7 with 3.0TDI (instead of petrol engines!) with electric compressor. In Geneva VW presented new Touareg with slightly modified 4.0TDI engine with 429HP and Euro6 temp. This is just a matter of time when SQ7 will be back and new SQ8 will be launched. I believe still this year. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

The EU is so far into the red that they probably want the targets to be missed so they can extract more tax... I was looking at a global list of CO2 production and the entire EU didn’t even register, China and the USA made for 80% on their own. It’s what makes our countries aim of zero CO2 production by 2050 such a joke, it won’t make the slightest bit of difference.

Ugh, don't get me started. It just seems so pointless, without the US and China on board, we're all doomed, nothing we do will make any difference. I'll be dead when the polar ice caps have melted but it's my kids I feel sorry for. They are the ones that will have to live with the consequences.
