The fuel filter is located under the car, directly under the drivers seat (UK). You have to remove the underbody protection to get to it. You'll need a flat screwdriver for the trim clips and a 10mm socket to the trim nuts and some pliers for the pipe clips. Once changed its recommended that you prime the fuel system by running the fuel pump with carista/OBDEleven/VCDS. I did mine couple weeks ago, takes about 20mins, 15mins of which is taking off and refitting trim.
As for gearbox, I'll pay my local indi for that.

You also have a fixed price DSG service from the main dealers (due to the age of your car). If you have a decent one around, worth considering...

The fixed price for the DSG oil change is £225. Apparently it is straightforward but the kit including oil is about £100 - not sure on these numbers as mine is still under warranty so had it done at Audi. Didn't think the price was too bad.

Just been looking at a vid on youtube and it looks easy so long as you have the filler adaptor about 15quid plus the oil.
Looked on ebay and there seems to be quite a few sellers of genuine oil 6 litres for 70 quid, wonder where that comes from!

Ive got the pump already as done loads of slush auto boxes, in fact did my disco one only yesterday.

My local Indy charge £230, very similar to my local Audi centre. But I'm reluctant to use the dealer as my previous C7 had the sump plug on the box chewed by what looked like a chisel and multiple strikes. Rather pay the Indy and keep him sweet, may work in my favour one day.
