This may be a stab in the dark, but I was cleaning out the Passat today and decided to look in the boot for the sticker to indicate that the injector recall/campaign had been done, as I know that when I asked the question before I was told a sticker would be there.

There is a sticker, but it is impossible to see what code would have been written on it. I've attached a picture for reference, maybe one of you can make more out than I can but I doubt it.

Anyway, could that be in reference to another recall, or would that sticker (and its placement) definitely indicate that the injector job has been done?

    I await your knowledgeable responses!!

    Thank you.

There were one or two other campaigns so it is not conclusive. The 'recall' has well gone by now and mine done in 2011 only had the 23H9 code written in biro on my original PR code sticker (the bigger printed one). If it's hard to read in person a photo is going to be worse. The only easy way to tell is to contact VW to see if it was recorded. Otherwise it is cam cover off to read the injector part number to be sure you don't have the original potentially faulty injectors still fitted.

As Mitch says. I've got three stickers in my boot, none stamped, but signed by the mechanic at the dealers.

Well I decided tonight to take the service book into the house and over a glass of wine I pawed through it, and came across the below invoice...

    Happy days!!

I can't believe they charged him £468.78 for two issues that were known problems with the car though, I would have flipped my lid.
