I have an a6 allroad 2008 with automatic gearbox, I believe zf hp6 19a. When cars cold I cant select gears or move from park. When its warmed z few minutes codes will clear and it drives and changes gear perfect for the rest of the day. Next morning it's the same routine.

    Codes are

    01315. No communication with tcm
    00263 no communication with TCM

I'm guessing a bad solder joing in tcm but it's in the gearbox and £1800 to replace !

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Thanks Simon

I’m not familiar with the wiring route between the ecu and gearbox, but an observation from many years experience with electronic systems - it’s the cables and connectors which cause problems far more often than the components themselves.

What you suggested is perfectly possible of course, but prior to concluding that I’d want to find each and every connector in the signal path from ecu to gearbox and disconnect, spray with contact cleaner, then reconnect the loom. A marginal electrical connection within a multipoint connector can be affected by temperature just as much as gearbox internals.
