I've always had poor reception with DAB (repeated drop outs)
Reading forums appears to suggest this can be addressed with a software issue?
I had a new Q2 courtesy car and the DAB reception was rock solid
Any one had experience of this issue, how did you address it, if at all?

My DAB has been rock solid in my A7, but I do use FM more than DAB apart from the odd station. I've never heard of a software fix for DAB reception. Do you have a dash cam? I've heard these can interfere. Maybe have a look at the aerial too or may be it's just the reception is poor in your area.

It's made worse if you have anything charging from the 12v sockets because it back feeds . I just dont even bother with it now it's that useless.

DAB reception is very dependent on location and topography. I am in the south east and find it very good, but there are a few areas that I know I will loose it in. This site may help with UK transmitter locations and coverage, it really depends on where you are located. ukdigitalradio: Coverage

Around west Berks it's pathetic. And when you can get it the nitrate is so low, and half the station's don't even broadcast in stereo. I chuckle when people shell out extra money for Bose and b&o for their cars, then sit and listen to DAB.

Hi. Discovered something interesting this week regarding DAB reception. The heater rear screen is used as the aerial for radio reception. This week I installed a dashcam in the rear window. On a 120 mile trip round the M25 and back home a couple of days later, I noticed the DAB kept dropping leaving me on FM. Thinking it may be a transition fault at the time did not worry to much, but, today again no DAB. Thinking about it as it had been fine up until last week, I unplugged the cam, DAB back to normal... So conclusion, dashcam can cause interference at DAB frequencies. So if you experience a poor DAB reception and have a dashcam, switch it off it may be causing your DAB problem. Guess then you have to accept that you may have to settle for FM...... Grrrrrrrrrr

there are some extra wires on the rear screen that the dab uses. Literally 2 lines iirc. dashcams have been an issue with dab reception which blackvue know about. I think a ferrite code wrapped around the dashcam cable helps

I've not heard of Thinkware rear dashcams causing DAB issues, but have read of the Balckvue's doing so. Mine is a Thinkware F770, along with a rear, and not had any problems with DAB.

As people have said, could be caused by poor RF supression in either a dashcam power supply, the link cable between front and rear cams or any other charger you have.

I swapped out my 12v chargers in the car for those with better RF suppression and binned the old ones. DAB is far far better now.
