I just replaced the fuel filler lock on my A7 and can report it is a simple DIY fit that actually takes less time to carry out than the youtube videos. The best video is this one:
Fuel Door Actuator Audi A7 - YouTube .

I had been putting this job off for weeks because i thought it would be complicated and involve removal of several internal trim panels. its dead easy though, its all done from the outside of the car and takes 10 mins. A small straight bladed screwdriver can be used instead of a torx tool even as the actuator screws are not very tight.

I need to replace mine, currently using a screwdriver to get it open lol.

May I ask how much the parts were? Assume it’s the black post that has the spinning lock top that’s being replaced?

    Thanks

The actuator is only about £22 from main dealers and yes that's the bit that's replaced, its bigger than you think.
