Hi Guys, driver inner door handle is limp and wont open door, removed first vinyl main door inner panel and could pull the hook away from the handle and the steel rod slid up out of the sleeve with just a clean end so looks like its broken. From this point I am not sure whether to look into this further or take to a garage. What needs removing to enable me to get to the inner door section/lock where I can fit a new rod assembly ?

Many thanks if anyone can help !

They are an awful job requiring the window frame shim wedges to be marked to TRY and help reassembly, a crazy system. If the window cables or the window lifter clamps look rough when they get in there, have a new mechanism fitted BUT they will need a huge rivet gun, for a 4 door model the rivets sharks are 6.4mm, even the 2 door ones are 4.8 and 6mm and it is not something you can bodge as the frame is box section alloy.

Parts cost depends on what is broken. The official time is 120 time units (1 hour is 100 time units, only VAG would divide an hour by base 100) but that is a laugh, it takes that long just to get the subframe off! The main sketch will be parts, many, including the lock unit itself, are obsolete....
