    Hi
My 1.9 Diesel Touran has just failed it's MOT due to high exhaust emissions. The MOT people suggested it would be OK after a full service - oil, all filters etc. The results didn't alter at all.
It was then suggested that changing the EGR valve would perhaps solve the problem. A new one was fitted and it brought the opacity result down to 1.32 from 3.27, the limit is 1 so it has still failed. They have no more suggestions, so my Touran is now sat outside and I don't know what to do next.
It's a 07 plate with 57000 miles on the clock. I average 5000 miles a year, the car gets a full service every March and always has done. I'd appreciate any help or advice please

We fit a free flow air filter to help with this problem and add Red Line 85 Plus to the fuel, after a good thrashing they pass.

Add JASO FB spec 2 Stroke oil to derv and an Italian tune up , of course a clean standard air filter is essential .

So today it's been to a Diesel specialist and their diagnostic said there are no problems with the car but they said it would benifit from a complete carbon clean. I've had this done and it's in for the retest in the morning.
