    hi All
the wife was driving the normally trusty old 03 2.5 TDI Allroad home this evening, without warning at about 80 mph it conked out . She ended up stopped in the central reserve ! I got to her in about 20 minutes to tow her off the dual carriage way as after it conked out it wouldn’t start. When I got there it actually started but only on very low revs with glow plug light flashing. We limped it across the road and then I towed it home. She reported that earlier in the day the low oil warning flashed up big and red but immediately went off. She checked oil level which was fine and then carried on.
now it will start and tick over but glow plug light flashing all the time and cuts out if I rev much over 1500 rpm
ive just ran vcds. In the engine module I have 5 faults that are still there after clearing all DTCs
    00542 NEEDLE LIFT SENSOR (G80)
30-10 open or short to plus - intermittent . Ive seen this one for a couple of years so I think it’s not the issue

    01268- QUANTITY ADJUSTER (N146)
    37-00 Faulty

01381 - CONTROL MODULE FOR INJECTION PUMP (J399)
    37-00 Faulty

01375 - VALVES FOR ENGINE MOUNTING; stage 1
38-00- OUTPUT WONT SWITCH OR SHORT TO PLUS

    READINESS N/A

A quick internet search shows 01268 and 01381 relate to injection pump

01375 something to do with engine mounting

any idea what might of happened and what I should do to check/repair ?

    any help much appreciated!

    cheers

    vin

We pride ourselves on keeping the plenum clean, my business partner John has a 2005 Allroad and suddenly last week it filled the passengers floor with water, he NEVER parks under bushes or trees anywhere and we clean the drains annually. There is the engine ECU in the box and the pump controller on the pump, we don’t mess with those we give the unit to a nice Bosch approved chap called Daryl at G Diesel.

Ok, plenum chamber is bone dry . Wiring into pump controller looked fine.
Whilst im happy to remove my ecu or the pump controller and get them tested I’d like to exhaust any possibility’s I can check out myself prior to spending any money on a car that might be destined for the melting pot.
could it off skipped timing ? Could this throw pump faults out ?,

    cheers for help

    vin
