A few weeks ago the dash warning light came on to say the drivers DRL was out. It then came back on of its own accord. More recently it went out for good.

I today swapped the bulb by removing the bumper trim but still no go. I took the passenger side unit out as well and all the bulbs are good. The light fittings also both work on the passenger side meaning bulbs and the fittings aren’t the problem as far as I can tell. I couldn’t see any noticeable damage to the wires so I am a bit stumped.

All other lights appear fine except this one drivers side DRL. Anyone got any ideas? TIA

So to recap, it is now not showing a bulb issue.

I ask because 'went out for good' could mean the bulb or the warning.

If so it sounds like the new bulb has made a better connection.

    Thanks for the reply.

Ok, so the dash warning is still on and the driver's side DRL is not illuminated. The bulb and fitting it screws into both work on the passenger side which still comes on as normal.

I’ve suddenly hit a ton of bulbs going! Considering the car is a 2012 and on 205k miles the fact that almost all are original says something!
I did a few cheap ones and started to get lots of errors! I’ve just bought various decent osram ones inc the running lights as well as contact cleaning spray and all is well now, a good, clean contact seems pretty critical.
As a side note if you have a long thin arm you can change the passenger side (Uk) driving light by reaching down from above, it’s an interesting fiddle but very satisfying!!
