Yet you're telling me it's the injectors and can't be anything else - how could a senior mechanic at a well known garage be so wrong? My only alternative to this place is the local audi place which in my experience tend to pick the most expensive possible option and hope that works. And if it can be anything other than a €3k solution that isn't totally absurd I'm happy to try it.
The thing to bear in mind here is that you are conversing with an expert when Crasher is part of the conversation. He is not just an interested amateur - he runs a VW/Audi specialist independent workshop and spends every waking hour working on these cars (apart from when he's drinking wine, but that's another story ) I have spent many years as a member of this forum, and I can attest to the fact that he knows his stuff. It's your car, your money and your decision on how to proceed, but don't discount his advice lightly.
Good luck - whatever you decide!
Cheers!
