Posted in the B6 forum yesterday by mistake.

Bought a new temp sensor for the back of the block as my temp gauge on the dash doesn’t move. Took the engine cover off and couldn’t even see the sensor. It looked like it would make it easier to remove the corner section of air hose off but I couldn’t even work out how to do that!! There’s a circlip on one end of it but the other goes into a silver fitting and I couldn’t see how that comes off; is it just pressure fit? Will it just prize off or to I need to insert a screwdriver into it to release it?

Honestly - I could barely get my hand in there and feel the thing let alone change it.

Am I being proper special here??

It isn’t you, all you need to do is look at a typical mechanics scarred, scabby and bloodied hands to see this is a daily struggle.
