I recently had a new (genuine VW ) EGR valve replaced , and after few days noticed fumes inside the cabin , I looked as best I was able without a ramp and saw oil markings near the turbo . I took it back to the garage (non VW) and they saw the join was leaking from where the turbo oil return pipe meets the underneath of the turbo , and although tight, it was still leaking , albeit very minute but leaking all the same .
I have ordered a new gasket for that area and will also order 2 new torx bolts just to be on the safe side ,(dont want anything snapping off for the sake of 2 new bolts). What I need to know is , do I need any other bolts , washers etc , like new banjo bolt as they will be taking off or loosening this pipe to fit the new gasket above? VW Passat 2.0d bluemotion 2011 cffb.
I also noticed the heat shroud for the EGR valve is missing (small 2 presstud cap ) So I have also ordered a new one , my theory is if its fiitted on there its needed . Kind regards and thanks in advance for any replies .

The heat shield 03L 131 531 A should have been fitted with the new valve, the parts system points this out and their TPS should have warned them, if it had failed during the warranty period, the inspecting dealer would rightly say no warranty and who to blame would be lost in time.
