RNS 510 Rebooting Question- from someone completley cluess about cars!

Hi

Firstly thank you for reading this - cars are pretty much a mystery to me and I guess I have been lucky so far and avoided too many problems.

Well at least until my RNS510 in my 2014 Passat decided to do the constant rebooting problem a couple of weeks ago which having looked on here and similar sites seems an all too familiar problem!

I'm the sort of person who has plenty of spare parts left over from and Ikea wardrobe so dismantling any part of the car fills me with horror however I have no great desire to go and hand over a small (or probably large) fortune to a VW dealership to replace a head unit which really I don't think should be failing so quickly!

So my question is has anyone found anyone in the Midlands who runs a reputable and reliable service who could look at this and hopefully fix it?

I'd rather go b y recommendation rather than taking a complete leap into the dark!
