    Hi,

The repeater in the driver-side wing mirror is notably dimmer than the passenger side and is causing the bulb warning light to display. The bulb is in fact a single LED (I had to replace previously after a knock). Before I go out and buy yet another replacement part. Might it be a case of lower voltage reaching the repeater rather than actually needing replacement? I'm no expert in taking readings but do have a meter to hand to check if instructed how.

I'm a bit hazy on the details as it's a while since I last pulled mine to pieces (after a mirror v lorry argument that I lost) - pretty certain the LED plugs into a connector within the mirror housing, if you put the probes from a multimeter into that connector and see if you get 12v across it, that should tell you which is at fault.

So it was faulty. Water had made its way into the unit. Swapped out for a new one. All good again.

    Makes it even more confusing.
So you bought an led strip meant for a later model and it worked?

Do you still have the eBay item number.

As have a 67 plate so what I originally got should be fine. But doesn't work. Now got another one on order for my year again 11-18. Am just hoping it's a faulty unit I can return. Far too much money to splash out on just a strip and bit of plastic :/
Thank you for all your replies though. Will update once sorted in case someone has the same issue.

Item number: 143127089965. The title of the ad was: Audi A6 Wing Mirror Indicator 2011-2018 LED Indicator Driver Side which is is range for my model year.

Best of luck sourcing the correct version.

Can't make the number work. But it's fine.
