    Hi all,

So I have had a DAB issue for a few months, only realised today that it only happens when rear demister is turned on. (doesn't affect BBC digi though).

I have read that it's a common enough problem but necessitates a replacement rear windscreen. My car is a Nov 2013 A5 so not under warranty.

    Anyone more familiar know
    A) Is that going to be a ridiculous cost to fix?
    B) Would Audi fix it FOC as manufacturing error, none of the heating elements(wires) are broken and no other issues?

    Tks

Interesting you say this as I too have only just pieced together the exact same issue in my 2014 A6. I have an extended warranty through the garage I bought if from but suspect wiring and glass won’t be covered.

Hopefully someone has managed to resolve this with a DIY fix?

As the ariel is in the rear window, part of the heating element, this is why you get the issue when using the window demister.

Maybe check/clean the connections and earths. The wires will probably go to a module/receiver in the boot, so check this too.

It appears (I cannot confirm this) that corrosion on the terminals causes a high resistance giving poor or no reception. In some cases they corrode right through. Not unknown on many makes including BMW.
